​Why Should You Join the PAD?​
The Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery is the only statewide organization that exclusively represents dermatologists and their patients. The PAD is the voice of Dermatology for both the state legislature and third party payers. The PAD promotes education and camaraderie through our Annual Meeting and keeps members informed through our e-journal, Skin Lines.
Membership Classes
There are three classes of membership: Fellow, Fellow in Training, and Life Member Fellow. Fellows must be Board eligible or Board Certified Dermatologists or Dermatopathologists, having the degree of M.D. or D.O., meeting the criteria of the American Board of Dermatology, the American Board of Osteopathic Dermatology, or the American Board of Pathology.Discounted dues are available for early career physicians (ECPs) in their first three years of practice who meet PAD membership requirements. Dues are free for full-time Resident Fellows who are active full-time in a dermatology residency or fellowship.​Life Member Fellows must meet the criteria for Fellows, have been Fellows of the Academy for 10 years and have attained the age of 70, retaining all the rights and privileges of Fellows.
Latest Information for the Practicing Dermatologist
Members are kept abreast of all issues, including economic, legal, political, affecting the practice of dermatology in Pennsylvania. Members receive regular electronic communications on the issues as they are happening.
A Voice for Legislative and Economic Interests That Allow Us to Practice Excellent Dermatology
We have a dermatology representation on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee which safeguards our Medicare concerns. Board members fight for our rights with local third party carriers as well as researches and supports legislation that promotes public health.
New Developments in Dermatology
PAD hosts a highly-acclaimed Annual Scientific Meeting that offers the latest information on coding and documentation along with pertinent regulatory issues. Members enjoy markedly reduced meeting fees.
