The UPMC Department of Dermatology seeks dermatologists to join our full-time faculty! Join a busy team of dermatologists and advanced practice providers in our satellite office in Wexford, PA. Board-certified and board-eligible physicians with interests in general and medical dermatology are encouraged to apply.
Located 20 minutes from the heart of the city, our Wexford practice houses the Department’s quickly expanding teledermatology program. The incumbent should expect a culture focused on collaboration, a large referral base, competitive salary, malpractice, health insurance, and CME allowance.
Our department serves a diverse, medically complex population within the greater Pittsburgh area, while also drawing patients from throughout Pennsylvania and the tri-state area. The expansive University of Pittsburgh/UPMC campus includes 40 hospitals, 800 outpatient clinical locations, and an international healthcare presence. The Department of Dermatology sees patients in our seven clinics, providing services that include general dermatology, phototherapy, laser, Mohs micrographic surgery, and aesthetic services as well as inpatient consultations. Our Dermatopathology unit is onsite in our Oakland campus, with four full-time dermatopathologists and two dermatopathology fellows. Our teledermatology program provides synchronous and asynchronous care to patients throughout the state and is utilized for inpatient consults and in-office e-consults with community physicians.

The Department’s teledermatology program was established in 2008 and is one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Our program provides synchronous and asynchronous electronic healthcare services throughout the state of Pennsylvania. The Department’s robust asynchronous inpatient eConsult service covers 19 hospitals and includes coverage of our residency program’s inpatient consult rotation. Our asynchronous outpatient eConsult (physician to physician) service allows all community and academic physicians to submit eConsults from their offices. Additionally, our eDermatology platform (consumer to physician) allows patients convenient access to have their dermatologic complaints addressed by our teledermatology team.
This position will serve the Department on a casual basis, with an average of 2.5 days per month, or coverage for weeklong PTO as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates need not be residents of Pennsylvania but are required to have a Pennsylvania medical license.
